Cutting with a band saw

We offer cutting with a band saw for elements with a diameter of up to 350mm, which is perfect for cutting profiles, sections, pipes and rollers. Is a relatively cheap solution as well. It is used in unit and serial production, and due to its strong construction, it enables cutting a wide range of solid materials and profiles.

The general principle of operation of the band saw

In the last decade there has been a dynamic development of band saws and their use in industry. There is practically no production company that would not have such a device in its machinery. The principle of operation of the band saw consists in moving the endless cutting band on two tension wheels. This solution turned out to be a great idea for fast and accurate cutting of steel in unlimited dimensions, which resulted in the displacement of popular frame saws.

Types of jag in a band saw

Classic jag Standard S: rake angle 0 degrees.

mainly used for cutting short-chipping low-alloy steels,
often used for pipes and profiles as well as solid materials with small or medium cross-sections.

P profile jag: rake angle 6 degrees

perfect for cutting profiles and packages,
increased resistance to vibrations generated when cutting pipes and packages,

K-hook circular jag: rake angle 10 degrees.

used in larger sections.

Radial jag Radial R: rake angle 16 degrees (ground jag sides).

used for solid and long-chipping materials,
jag shape developed for cutting stainless, acid-resistant and difficult-to-machine steels.

D-type delta jag: rake angle 16 degrees.

used for full and thick-walled materials,
suitable for cutting high-alloy materials.

Master M jag: rake angle of 10 degrees with different heights, additionally ground sides of the jag.
