Milling is a permanent element of machining all kinds of planes, grooves, shaped surfaces or toothing. There are several techniques, they can be divided due to the arrangement of the blades – cylindrical and shaped milling techniques. In the machining of soft, low carbon steels, the main problems is edge build-up and burr formation. When machining harder types of steel, it becomes important to position the cutter to avoid edge chipping.
